Unit overview

The Western Communications team provides strategic advice to university senior leadership, faculty, staff and teams of internal and external communications staff across Western in order to build the university’s brand on a local, national and global scale.
 
Responsibilities

Reporting to the Chief Communications Officer, the Administrative Coordinator provides administrative and logistical support to the Chief Communications Officer to ensure that their time and efforts are focused on priorities that require their direct oversight.  This role acts as a point of contact for staff, faculty, committee members, partners and other stakeholders related to the CCO’s portfolio, providing information and assistance in response to inquiries. The Administrative Coordinator will also support projects, organize events and maintain databases.
 
Ideal candidate

The ideal candidate will have an undergraduate degree in business administration or other related field, with 3 years' administrative experience supporting a senior leader in a large, complex office environment.
You will have in-depth knowledge of common office procedures and best practices, are detail-oriented with an ability to function and process information with high levels of accuracy and execute responsibilities in a confidential manner.

You bring with you a strong ability to collaborate with various stakeholders using tact and diplomacy, a reputation for resourcefulness with a strong sense of accountability and initiative, as well as, effective problem solving and organizational skills.
