In this role you will join a great team and will share responsibility for payroll and various accounting duties including:
  • Input employee changes, new hires and terminations into payroll system and internal people manager system
  • End to end processing of bi-weekly payroll weekly (two different divisions) 
  • Complete monthly and quarterly payroll remittances and reconciliations
  • Assist in T4 Preparation
  • Review changes and payroll processed to ensure accuracy prior to bank cut off
  • Collect & review all employee expenses submitted for accuracy and adherence to our company policies; follow up on any incorrect/ missing expense reports
  • Assist in Benefits Administration
  • Bank Deposits as required
  • Perform general accounting duties which may include bank reconciliations, journal entries, month end closing tasks and credit card reconciliations
  • Work closely with the human resources team to maintain accurate employee records and support objectives that create a positive employee experience
Qualifications
 
  • Completion of or equivalent to secondary school diploma
  • Post-secondary education in accounting/finance, payroll or equivalent work experience
  • 1-3 years general hands on accounting experience out of school
  • 1-3 years payroll & benefits administration experience out of school
  • Understanding of Federal Legislation (Canada Labour Code) a plus but can train
  • Good working knowledge of Accounting software
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office software packages - Excel
