Salary: $115,000 - $130,000, 3% company matching RRSP

About the Role
As the Controller at BOS Innovations, you’ll be a key member of the management team, responsible for leading the financial operations of the organization. Your expertise will guide strategic decision-making and ensure financial integrity through comprehensive planning, reporting, and compliance. With a focus on leadership, you will develop and manage a high-performing finance team, enhance processes, and foster a culture of collaboration and excellence.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain a high-functioning finance team
- Evaluate and implement best practices for finance processes and internal controls
- Develop scalable, reliable processes to support a variety of businesses and ongoing growth
- Foster an environment conductive to high performance, collaboration and engagement
- Provide leadership to the team and oversee day-to-day effectiveness by managing for high-performance, including goal setting, coaching, mentoring, developing, training, and managing individual performance
Reporting
- Manage all accounting operational functions
- Manage the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results
- Ensure the accuracy of the financial statements, including divisional and inter-company reporting, along with consolidated statements and reporting across all divisions and legal entities
- Maintain a robust and efficient financial reporting system producing accurate, comprehensive, and timely monthly reporting to enable the management team to operate effectively
- Ensure data integrity and accuracy by maintaining rigorous validation processes and enforcing best practices in data management.
- Optimize data compilation and reporting through effective system integration, ensuring reliable and consistent insights for decision-making.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with federal, provincial, and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting
- Manage the annual audit process in an efficient manner
- Codify credit policies, develop systemic approach to assessing credit risk and minimize loss experience
- Review and recommend strategies to manage currency risk as appropriate
Forecasting & Strategic Planning
- Manage processes for financial forecasting, budgets and reporting, and consolidation
- Prepare detailed financial models/analysis to assist with capital expenditure, acquisition and other management decision making
- Establish and maintain strong relationship with all levels of Management to identify their needs and seek to deliver a full range of business solutions
- Partner with Director of Finance to drive strategic initiatives to identify and capitalize on growth opportunities

Requirements
About You
You are a financial leader with a proven track record of delivering impactful results. A CPA designation and experience in accounting, auditing, or financial planning are essential, as is familiarity with systems like Microsoft Dynamics Business Central. Your ability to build relationships and communicate effectively across all levels of an organization complements your analytical mindset and problem-solving skills. Experience with tools like Power BI and advanced Excel are assets, and your proactive approach ensures that financial operations align seamlessly with strategic objectives.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Must have 10 years experience in an accounting role
- CPA or similar designation required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business
- Experience in project management, construction or other supply chain / costing area preferred.
- Experience in accounting, auditing, budgeting, financial planning, and analysis or other financial activities, along with experience working with inter-divisional and inter-company accounting.
- Experience with transaction & reporting systems such as Microsoft Dynamics Business Central
- Advanced Microsoft Excel user, accustomed to working with large amounts of data
- Experience with Microsoft Power BI, Power Automate, and other Microsoft tools an asset
