Parental Leave Contract; Potential for Permanence
For more than 30 years, LIHC has provided health and social services to those who experience barriers to care including poverty, homelessness, language or culture, and complex and/or chronic health conditions including mental health and addictions.
Today, with five busy clinics in three of London’s most under-served neighborhoods, the organization is viewed as a community leader in client-led service development and the advancement of partnerships improving access to vital services for people who are at the margins in our community.
Our team is looking for a colleague to assist during a Parental Leave at our busy Old East Village clinic who is/has:
- A people leader with examples of influence that can be shared in an interview.
- Led through organizational change, and have successfully supported a diverse staff group, including direct and indirect reports.
- Experience using data and metrics to support decisions and to influence performance, supported by principles of harm reduction and health equity.
- A proven ability to appreciate the strengths of the people around them, creating space and opportunities for those strengths to shine in support of accomplishing shared goals.
- Creative and flexible, willing to new share ideas and try different approaches.
How they will spend their time
Clinic Management - Supported by a Site Coordinator/Administrator, through a servant leadership approach, they will support an interdisciplinary team of clinicians, regulated professionals, community workers, and support staff to deliver quality care within a welcoming and safe environment. Full cycle management includes human resources, budget, scheduling, workflow, quality, performance, client experience, and planning.
Systems Influence - Working closely with the Corporate Services team, they will utilize data and information to engage in quality improvement strategies, program management, liaising with funders and community partners. This includes assessing and responding to immediate needs of the community and opportunities for new resources for the community.
Staff Care - We are only as strong as each other. Time spent on caring for staff and the atmosphere in which they work, acknowledging change management needs and performance support requirements is weaved throughout everyday.
Required Qualifications
- Post-Secondary completion in Health, Social Services or Business
- 3+ years of leadership experience
- Understanding of the social determinants of health & health promotion
- Willingness to work with people of diverse backgrounds with an inclusive and anti-oppressive lens
Ideal Qualifications, but not required
- Regulated Health Professional designation and practice experience
- Experience leading in a clinical setting, and/or leading Regulated Health Professionals
- Certification in Human Resources, Leadership/Management, or Program Development & Evaluation
- French and other Language Skills

The Compensation Package
A temporary employment contract anticipated for 18 months including:
- A starting salary range of $72,800 - $86,200/yr dependant on qualifications*
- 100% employer-paid health and dental benefits, after 3 months
- Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP)
- Paid sick and personal time, plus vacation time including in the first year
- Monday-Friday working hours with Friday Afternoon closures during summer months
*An enhanced salary scale would apply for applicable licensed/practicing regulated health professions
Ideally the contract would become permanent should the opportunity arise, and additional benefits would be added at that time including professional development time and funds, access to the Healthcare Spending Account benefit, and more.
