Our client in London is currently seeking an intermediate level Technical Writer / Coordinator with 2 to 5 years of experience in technical publications to join their existing team on a permanent basis.

 The successful candidate will be responsible for the development of new and existing end-user documentation (such as Operation and Maintenance manuals) for their products and will hold a Post-secondary degree in Technical Communication, Engineering or a related field. 2+ years experience in Technical Publication/Technical Communication is required, the demonstrated ability and preference to contribute to the overall success of a team as well as the demonstrated drive and delivery of continuous improvement to processes. Strong written and verbal communications are a must.

Job Requirements

• Utilize desktop publishing skills (technical writing and illustration creation) to convert complex, technical information into easy to use, high quality product documentation with a focus on the needs of the end-user
• Experience with desktop publishing tools such as Adobe In-Design, Adobe FrameMaker, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Distiller and MS Office tools
• Ability to project manage the work of technical writers and illustrators in other regions of the world
• Knowledge of documentation standards and the ability to contribute to the clients’ operating procedures, guidelines and templates for producing and maintaining documentation
• Strong technical comprehension and experience would be an asset in understanding the products that require documentation and the various technical terminologies
• Experience with structured writing (XML, DITA) an asset
• Assignments may include a small amount of domestic or foreign travel
