Responsibilities/Duties:

• Ensuring the manufacturing processes and the facilities meet the food safety and quality standards
• Maintaining and updating HACCP programs and plans
• Assist in keeping facility in a ready state for government and customer audits
• Monitors inspection reports
• Ensure processes meet Good Manufacturing Practices
• Review and analyze microbiological, environmental, and chemical results
• Ensure raw materials, manufacturing processes, plant environment, and finished products meet formulations and specifications.
• Ensure compliance with sanitation
• Assist R&D
• Train and motivate staff to ensure maximum efficiency, productivity, cooperation and morale

Qualifications: 

• Post-secondary degree in Microbiology, Food Science or related science
• Preferably 3-5 yrs experience in Meat Industry
• Knowledge of safe food handling, GMPs, Food Plant Sanitation, HACCP, and batter breading knowledge
• Ability to lead a team and provide direction
• Computer Literacy: spreadsheets, word processing, and statistics
• Excellent Communication: oral and written
