Supervisor

Note:  This is a full-time Administrative position.   

Duties:   Under the direction of the Manager, Retail Services, the Supervisor is accountable for effective operations of the various Retail Services locations, i.e. Bookstore, Clothing Store and Variety Store.  The incumbent will provide effective supervision to the support staff in the Bookstore and related business units.

The incumbent, in conjunction with the Manager, is responsible for budget planning and developing, ongoing sales monitoring and analysis, supervising, training and hiring of staff, store merchandising and marketing activities and maintaining a high level of customer service.

Qualifications:   

• Post-secondary 3 year diploma/degree or equivalent in a related discipline such as Business, Finance, Accounting, Management studies
• Minimum of 5 to 7 years progressive work experience in a related retail sales field
• Must have a strong understanding of accounting principles
• Experience in budget management (budget control and forecasting), Human Resource management, conflict resolution/problem solving, leadership and communication skills
• Supervisory experience with strong leadership skills
• Working knowledge of computers and related software such as Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Solid customer service skills
• Excellent problem solving and communication skills
