iLOOKABOUT is a visual data company serving commercial enterprise in the real estate, insurance, municipal, utility, assessment and appraisal sectors in North America and Europe.  iLOOKABOUT is a pioneer in visual data intelligence with its StreetScape and Virtual Tour products.  StreetScape is a visual data intelligence product for the geo-spatial market, providing panoramic, comprehensive, street level perspective visual data, geo-coded with latitude and longitude coordinates for accuracy and supported by patented software processes and proprietary security and storage systems. 

iLOOKABOUT is a public company, listed on the TSX Venture Exchange.

We are currently seeking a full time Controller with a desire to take on new challenges and contribute to the growth of our organization.

This position requires demonstration of day-to-day leadership abilities. The Controller will be responsible for directing, coordinating and maintaining an accounting system that properly reflects the financial position of a public organization, including financial budgets, internal and external financial reporting and serving as a resource to all of the organization's business units.

 

The Controller, while reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer [“CFO”], will work closely with the CFO to define, direct and manage the company’s accounting functions, including assessing, establishing and maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures as well as the preparation of business unit and consolidated financial statements, the latter to meet public disclosure requirements. 

 

The Controller will be responsible for day-to-day oversight and guidance of the Assistant Controller and Accounting Clerk.

 

The position requires a CA designation coupled with excellent time, people and project management skills.  Ideally, the successful candidate will have at least 2 years of relevant financial leadership experience outside of a public accounting firm.

 

Strong electronic business application skills are a necessity, including advanced level Excel.

 

The successful candidate must be able to successfully complete a security clearance background check.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

·         Monitor, maintain and implement internal controls over financial reporting.

·         Develop finance/accounting processes and procedures that not only support appropriate financial reporting, but also incorporate the needs of other functional areas of the organization and support their activities.

·         Perform cash management functions.

·         Perform sales contract analysis for revenue recognition.

·         Record and analyze Deferred Revenue.

·         Perform calculations and accounting for Stock Based Compensation.

·         Maintain appropriate Share Capital documentation and transactional reporting.

·         Ensure accurate accounting for foreign exchange with respect to both foreign currency transactions and translation of period end financial statements from the functional to the reporting currency.

·         Perform period end consolidation of financial statements for the parent company and its subsidiaries.

·         Review month and quarter end working paper files, and prepare working papers where required (i.e. Deferred Revenue, Stock Compensation, Share Capital, Tax).

·         Prepare the notes to consolidated financial statements for quarterly public disclosure.

·         Assist in preparation of annual budgets and forecasts, including P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash flow projections and the monthly maintenance, reporting and analysis of budget to actual variances.

·         Participate in quarterly Audit Committee meetings.

·         Operate as the primary contact for external auditors, providing documentation and assistance needed for the timely completion of the annual audit and quarterly reviews.

·         Assist with Global, Federal, Provincial and State tax analysis and provision calculations, and maintain supporting documentation.

·         Assist with Transfer Pricing policy development and implementation.

·         Assist in the maintenance of accounting and reporting software, currently ACCPAC 5.0.

 

 

Other:

 

·         Improve and enhance operational efficiencies through stream-lined processes, procedures and enhanced use of technology.

·         Ensure documentation of key financial/accounting processes is maintained.

·         Perform compliance, control and risk management analysis.

·         Assist with capital asset management.

·         Assist with the preparation of TSXV reporting.

·         Assist with SEDI reporting.

·         Assist with the company’s transition from Canadian GAAP to International Financial Reporting Standards, to be implemented by January 1, 2011.

·         Ensure month end management reporting and quarterly external reporting requirements are met.
