Since 1949, TVCC has been working with children and youth to help them reach their full potential. Today, a wide range of services and supports are provided for young people with physical disabilities, communication disorders, developmental delays and autism spectrum disorders to support them in attaining the best available quality of life and health. In partnership with local and regional agencies, TVCC annually serves more than 11,000 children, youth and their families from birth to age 19 across Southwestern Ontario in over 700 locations.
We are currently recruiting for a permanent, part-time (30 hours per week) Clinic Assistant in Clinical and Technical Specialty Services. The designated office for this position is London.The successful candidate will work collaboratively with clinicians, other Clinic Assistants, and medical/dental staff in the scheduling and coordination of clinics.
Responsibilities:
- Organizing, setting up and supporting multidisciplinary clinics including room set up, preparing/ordering materials and supplies, arranging follow up appointments, and greeting and supporting clients and families;
- Scheduling and confirming appointments and test procedures within the electronic medical records;
- Support of clinic working file and clinical documentation in the electronic medical records;
- Facilitating information sharing among clinic service providers;
- Coordination of appointments with LHSC, and other community practitioners as required
- Word processing including transcription of clinic reports, letters and other documents;
- Support to other clinics as needed;
- Support to keep clinic/program procedures branded and up-to-date.
Qualifications:
- College diploma specializing in medical office administration;
- One year of relevant work experiencel
- Knowledge of medical terminology and proficiency in dictatyping;
- Strong customer and family-centered care focus;
- Proficiency in minute taking;
- Highly developed interpersonal, communication and organizational skills;
- Strong typing skills and excellent computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access, as well as videoconferencing software (e.g. Teams);
- An ability to be flexible and dynamic and to prioritize and meet deadlines while balancing a number of tasks and being detail oriented;
- Strong ability to work effectively in a team environment;
- Proficiency in French would be considered an asset.
