Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, the Material Handler receives, dumps, transports, and disposes of bulk, bagged and toted ingredients at the Bright Warehouse. They will use their strong product knowledge and computer skills to operate turn-heads and pits to transfer materials accurately and efficiently to other areas of the facility.
Responsibilities
- Ship and receive bulk and bagged/toted ingredients: weigh trucks in and out, sign bills and write amounts onto documentation.
- Sample inbound loads and label for the customer.
- Operate manual turn head to receive bulk ingredients to bin or silo.
- Dump toted material through receiving pit or transfer pit as needed.
- Move truck trailers within yard and into assigned loading door.
- Move skids or totes from one storage area to another in accordance with lot serial control practices record movements for inventory purposes.
- Dispose of empty tote bags into Baler.
- Daily and weekly cleaning as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
Safety Responsibility
- Work in compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act and regulations.
- Use or wear any equipment, protective devices or clothing required by the employer.
- Report to your manager or foreperson any known missing or defective equipment or protective device that may be hazardous.
- Report any known workplace hazard or violation of the Act or regulations to your manager or foreperson.
- Follow all safe work practices.
- Participate in the safety process.
- Discourage unsafe behaviour of fellow employees.

Position Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Lift Truck Certificate and Skid Steer Certificate an asset.
- Heavy Truck experience an asset.
- Self-motivated.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Product knowledge and understanding.
- Good reading and writing skills.
- Computer skills (Excel, Word).
Hours of work: 7:30am to 4:30pm
Rate of pay: $23/hr
