Seasonal Beach Maintenance

Job Status: Summer Seasonal
Hours of Work: up to 40 hours, days, evenings and weekends based on operational needs
Wage Rate: $17.67/hour (Based on the 2025 pay grid)
Posting Date: December 2, 2024
Closing Date: January 13, 2025

Position Summary:

The Seasonal Beach Maintenance Staff work under the supervision of the Waterfront Manager and carry out the duties of general maintenance, cleaning, light equipment and machinery operation and other related duties, while ensuring that all health and safety regulations are followed at Grand Bend Beach. This position is also required to operate the information booth and handle cash, debit, and credit transactions.

Primary Duties:

Maintenance

  • Maintenance of the beach house and beach grounds, including but not limited to garbage and litter pickup; washroom and beach house cleaning; weeding and grass cutting; and plant watering.

Customer Service

  • Operates the information booth at the beach house, providing information and answering inquiries from beach patrons.
  • Interacts with the public in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Handle cash and end of day procedures.

Education Requirements and Skills:

  • Valid G or G2 Ontario Driver’s license with a clear driving record is an asset.
  • Valid CPR and First Aid training is an asset.
  • Ability to work with various small tools and equipment.
  • Ability to work with or without supervision.

Experience/ Work Complexity:

  • Working conditions are primarily outdoors.
  • Working hours include daytime, weekend, and some evening work.
  • Must adhere to all health and safety practices at all times.
  • Works with small equipment.
