Position: Administrative Assistant, Language Skills Program
Location:North London Education Centre, 200-735 Wonderland Rd. N., London
Start Date:August 26, 2024
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm.

In this role, you will:

• Follow YMCA of Southwestern Ontario policy and procedures
• Act as a YMCA ambassador, demonstrating YMCA core values in your daily work
• Register students into LINC classes
• Register children into CNC program
• Maintain the registration database, class files, individual student files, waiting lists for LINC classes and the CNC program
• Update iCARE system with HARTS database info. as required
• Provide support to program managers re. students’ attendance (London)
• Travel to and work from different sites within the city (London)
• Maintain monthly list of children enrolled in the CNC program
• Compile monthly statistical reports for IRCC
• Order resources and supplies for LINC classes
• Keep track of students’ attendance (Windsor)
• Organize LINC meetings and overall communication between the LINC Coordinator and LINC staff members (Windsor)
• Follow up on attendance issues with students
• Maintain positive relationship with local testing centre and provide support to class promotion in the community
• Knowledge of second language (depending on needs and trends of new client groups) an asset


Education and Skills Qualifications:

• Good computer skills utilizing Microsoft Office applications, internet, and email programs
• Must be flexible, adaptable and have the ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast paced environment
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
• Self motivated and able to work well independently and in a team environment
• Demonstrated understanding and sensitivity towards the challenges facing newcomers
• Experience working with diverse populations
• Current and acceptable Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening is a condition of employment for all staff and volunteers
• Legally entitled to work in Canada
