Our hire will be a full-time, in-house employee who can pull double duty as both a Video Reporter and a News Writer. Diply is an industry leader in today’s online market, focused on delivering diverse, high-quality, viral content. As a Video Reporter/News Writer, you will be appearing on camera, presenting topical news content that reaches over 140 million visitors per month.

The successful candidate must be comfortable appearing on-camera to deliver informative, entertaining reports. The person in this role will also be responsible for writing and editing news content. We’re looking for energetic people with a keen news sense and the ability to develop unique angles on trending news stories. We’re looking for Reporters who:
- Are knowledgeable about news, politics and current events
- Have excellent on-camera skills and an engaging presence
- Are comfortable working with a team and pitching story ideas
- Possess the ability to write short, lively, informative news stories
- Have an excellent command of the English language
- Are able to meet tight deadlines
- Are able to travel to live events, both locally and internationally
- Can work with multiple teams – editorial and video
- Have a sixth sense for what exactly makes content “viral” or “clickable”
- Live in, or are willing to relocate, to London, Ontario to work full-time in our downtown office
Preference will be given to candidates with:
- Experience appearing on-camera in a broadcast setting
- A background in television or broadcasting
- Professional writing and editing experience
- Familiarity with a wide variety of social media platforms including: Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, tumblr, reddit and Instagram
