JOB SUMMARY:

In accordance with the Strategic Plan and the policies of the organization, the Director of Finance is responsible for the development and maintenance of the appropriate financial systems to provide necessary information and analysis to the Executive Director, Board, funders, Directors and Managers of the organization within generally accepted accounting practices and principles. As a member of the Director’s team, this position provides leadership in the development and implementation of agency-wide systems for financial management and administrative activities while ensuring that the agency meets all applicable legislative requirements. This position is also responsible for the management, planning and oversight of payroll, agency insurance and IT services.

The responsibilities include coordination, management, and control of all financial related activities including business planning, operating and capital budgeting, design and implementation, forecasting, and participation in collective agreement negotiations.  Accountability for the use and allocation of financial resources, internal controls, and an effective financial system including the annual external audits. Our ideal candidate will have a robust financial background, solid analytical skills, effective leadership and communication skills, and an ability to manage the financial health of our Agency, as well as experience in payroll and IT services.

QUALIFICATIONS: 
 
Education: Minimum of a post-secondary graduation equivalent to a four (4) year degree in business studies with a professional accounting designation such as CPA Professional Designation. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. 

Experience: Minimum of six (6) years’ experience in financial and administrative management with a minimum of four (4) years in a leadership/supervisory capacity. Experience in the Non-Profit Sector an asset.

Special Skills: Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, payroll, and Information Technology.

Salary Range:  $85,196.80 - $98,467.20 plus benefits
