Job Description

Shore Contracting (London) Ltd. in Fingal, ON is seeking skilled and experienced Carpenters to join our team. Duties vary with each job but would typically include various rough framing duties, reading blueprints, exterior finishes and some roofing.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Carpenter

• Reading blueprints
• Measures and marks surface to layout work, according to blueprints and drawings, and according to building code
• Determine and estimate project materials and requirements
• Construct building structures and frameworks, including walls, floors, windows, doors, stairs etc.
• Measure, cut, shape, and join wood materials
• Frame floor systems, wall and roof trusses
• Sheeting of a roof
• Back framing

Experience and Requirements of the Carpenter

• 4+ years experience working in commercial or residential framing or rough carpentry
• Detail orientation is extremely important
• Highschool Diploma or equivalent is required
• Manual dexterity, physical stamina and strength essential
• Working at Heights & Fall Arrest training preferred but can be provided
