PERMANENT- FULL TIME 1.0 FTE

Salary range (commensurate with experience) 

Group 4, $ 67,288 - $ 76,463 

Extensive Benefit Package and OMERS Pension Plan 

Reporting to the Executive Manager of Admissions, Privacy, Records and Administrative Support, the Admissions Officer is responsible for the application of the Board’s admissions; registration application process and management of admissions files and decisions, school attendance boundaries, Catholic tax support, and school board elections consistent with the Board’s policies and procedures in accordance with the Education Act, Assessment Act, Municipal Elections Act, Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, and Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. 

Qualifications and Skills required: 

  • Degree or diploma in program/office management, school board administration, business, or related field. 

  • 3 years relevant experience in education and/or business administration 

  • Knowledge of the Education Act, Assessment Act, MFIPPA, Immigration and Citizenship regulations, Ontario Student Record guidelines and education rules of the register. 

  • Proficient knowledge and understanding of applicable legislation, policies and procedures relating to admissions, immigration, custody and guardianship, property taxes and the Ontario Student Record to provide technical and subject expertise and to implement policies, procedures, and guidelines to support the admission of students. 

  • Strong organization skills and demonstrated experience in managing and analyzing large data sets from various information sources 

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for report writing, issuing decisions, making presentations and training. 

  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities and high volumes of paperwork, and respond to requests in a timely manner. 

  • Experience dealing with customers and difficult conversations.
