Together we’re going places! Voyageur Transportation is currently recruiting for an entrepreneurial General Manager to lead the Checker Limousine division. Voyageur Transportation is a growing company with a reputation for exceeding all industry standards through its commitment to operational proficiency. Checker Limousine is Southwestern Ontario’s most recognized vehicle-for-hire service. Based in London Ontario, Checker Limousine operates 85 luxury sedans through a dedicated group of 175 self employed contractors.
Position Overview
The General Manager will play a key role in the strategy and business development initiatives for the division. In addition to providing direction and leadership to the Checker Team, the General Manager, reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, is responsible to drive growth, sales, and profitability while building and maintaining relationships with internal and external customers.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a working industry knowledge that includes, but is not limited to, the following:
• A minimum of five years experience within the vehicle for hire and/or hospitality centred industry, or similar business related area.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a proactively diverse and inclusive organization.
• Proven ability to drive outstanding customer service and sales.
• Ability to market and network new product/service initiatives and promotions
• Community involvement including Associations, Committees and Board responsibilities
• Proven ability to embrace conflict, stress and crisis situations for positive resolution.
• Experience with public relations principles and practices.
• Ability to motivate teams and simultaneously manage several projects.
• Develop and foster positive relations with key stakeholders
• Remain current on any relevant legislative changes affecting Voyageur Transportation Services and the vehicle for hire industry
• Experience in formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.
• Be self-motivated and have excellent time management skills.
• Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Hold a high degree of dependability and competency.
• Proven success in a contractor based environment would be an asset
• Identify and provide feedback on factors impacting the industry and Company
