Summary of Duties:

Reporting to the Manager, Compliance and Parking Services, the student’s primary responsibilities are to assist the Screening Officers with the following duties:

  •  Observes and assists Screening Officers reviewing disputed penalties
  •  Interprets and researches various bylaws for assisting resolution at a Screening
  •  Assists dispatching compliance officers to attend service requests from the community
  •  Assists with front line inquiries related to Parking and Compliance concerns
  •  Observes Administrative Monetary Penalty Hearings as scheduled
  •  Receives and records information related to compliance efforts taken by Compliance Officers
  •  Assists with email correspondence to the Ministry of the Attorney General
  •  Assists with retention of records
  •  Operates standard office equipment
  •  Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Student must be enrolled in an academic program related to Police Foundations, By-Law Enforcement, Law/Law clerk and/or a related discipline of study.
  • Must be a current student enrolled in full-time studies returning to school full-time September 2025 and/or require this placement to graduate from an academic program.

Specialized Training & Licenses:

  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Experience working with the public
  • Familiarity with data bases, spreadsheet and work processing
  • Previous experience working with a municipality or another level of government is an asset

Compensation & Other Information:

$22.44/hour.

This posting is for one (1) temporary full-time up to 4 month student position (May - September 2025).

Current hours of Work: Monday - Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. 

Work Arrangement: In office.
