About Us

Established in 1973, Vanderwesten & Rutherford Associates Inc. (V&R) provides mechanical & electrical engineering design services to a variety of clients and facilities including institutional, healthcare, elementary secondary and post-secondary, residential/affordable housing, industrial, municipal and recreational.

Medium in size, the personal involvement and dedication of the firm’s directors has ensured seamless client service. We employ highly motivated and creative design professionals committed to our goal of exceeding client expectations. Our wholly employee-owned firm ensures that all members of the V&R team are equally committed to providing exemplary service to all clients. We employ LEED certified professionals to ensure sustainable building design. We recognize that building systems that work in unison lower both financial and environmental costs. Our team’s collaborative approach promotes efficient coordination between disciplines in order to design the most effective systems for the owner, that are both functional and efficient. Our company’s resources include a senior management team that employs a hands-on approach to all projects and is committed to providing sufficient resources.

With over 10 PEO licensed Engineers on our team, there is always someone to work on your project no matter what emergency may arise. We have plumbing specialists, HVAC specialists, Energy Modelers, AHU replacement specialists, contract administrators, and AUTOCAD/REVIT specialists in house, along with a team of experienced mechanical engineers and designers.
