Who Are We?
The Upper Thames River Conservation Authority’s (UTRCA) mission statement is Inspiring a Healthy Environment. The 17 municipalities within the Upper Thames River watershed appoint representatives to the UTRCA’s Board of Directors who represent the local urban and rural communities, deciding policies and programs that will lead to a healthy watershed. Our programs and services focus on five key areas:

Empowering communities and youth.
The Upper Thames River watershed encompasses an area of 3,421 square kilometers and is mainly rural but includes the urban centres of London, Stratford, and Woodstock. The UTRCA serves a total population of approximately 539,500 residents.
UTRCA Conservation Areas provide outdoor recreational opportunities that aim to educate and promote conservation messages to a large audience in an effort to improve the watershed’s natural environment

What You Will Do

Assist with the day to day operations of the Conservation Areas;

Assist in the delivery of recreation programs and services that emphasize safety and user satisfaction;

Perform a wide variety of custodial functions including grass cutting, tree trimming, facility maintenance, garbage collection, plumbing, electrical, excavations, and related duties;

Carry out a variety of mechanical tasks on vehicles and equipment, performing tasks not requiring a licensed mechanic, including minor tune-ups, regular servicing and repairs;

Liaise with day users, campers, and clubs using UTRCA recreation areas and services to identify their needs, resolving issues and concerns and ensuring their reasonable satisfaction;

Assist or directly undertake special events and activities within the recreation areas or on lands of the UTRCA, as well as take the lead on all special event set-up and tear down;

Assist the Superintendent or designate when required;

Undertake the effective intake, handling, security and processing of cash receipts from users of the recreation areas when required;
