Elementary Administrative Secretary (1.0 FTE, 10 month)
LOCATION: Wilfrid Jury Public School
BAND: E
HOURS OF WORK: 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
RATE OF PAY: $28.55 – $34.22
DATE OF VACANCY: As soon as possible
JOB SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Principal, the Elementary Administrative Secretary performs a number of duties to support efficient school operations including assisting with finance/business functions, communication and liaison with students, staff, and the public, completion of special projects, and dealing with safety and emergency issues.
QUALIFICATIONS: Proof of Secondary School graduation or equivalent, successful completion of a one (1) year post-secondary program that is secretarial in nature with the major area of concentration in business and/or office administration or equivalent, keyboarding skills (35 w.p.m.), and the ability to use Word and Excel are required. Two (2) years system/office environment experience, demonstrated interpersonal and supervisory skills, and/or professional development course through System Staff Development or through a post-secondary institution are also required. Knowledge of budget administration would be an asset.
