Our Information Technology department is looking for a Sr. IT Project Manager.  This role is perfect for someone local to London, Ontario who has been looking to take on an exciting and rewarding challenge.

In the Sr. IT Project Manager role, you will work stakeholders to elicit project requirements, plan project implementation, acquire and mobilize project resources, assess project status, identify and manage risks and issues, communicate progress, and maintain a current project plan. Throughout this multi-year project you will facilitate and assist teammates through change and also adhere to the software development life cycle methodology to deliver quality solutions on time and within budget.

Our technology strategy calls for significant improvement in our systems and processes in order to achieve operational excellence. One of the most significant efforts in this area involves the introduction of a new, company-wide Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, including distribution, purchasing, inventory, warehouse management and supply chain functionality.

  • A successful track record managing in a matrix organization and directing geographically distributed teams
  • The ability to adapt to shifting priorities, demands and timelines

WHAT DOES A SR. IT PROJECT MANAGER DO AT EMCO?  YOU WILL...
  • Work with the project stakeholders to define scope, goals and quality deliverables 
  • Provide leadership and hands on support to the project sponsors, project stakeholders, and assigned teammates in eliciting project business process and system requirements
  • Composes business cases for approval for IT projects in accordance with Emco’s approval process
  • Work with key subject matter experts to estimate the business resources and participants needed to achieve project goals
  • Work with project owners and resource managers to identify resources for project requirements analysis, design, development, implementation, testing, and deployment efforts
  • Define current business processes and future state processes as well as system functional and technical requirements 
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive project implementation plan that conforms to a project management model
  • Coordinate the work of all technical resources (staff and vendor personnel) assigned to the project
  • Monitor project finances
  • Manage project scope and assess impact of proposed changes using change management processes
  • Identify and assess project risks using a qualitative or quantitative risk management method and develop and implement risk mitigation plans
  • Assure that the documentation defining project system requirements, design, and associated installation, maintenance, and user guides are controlled in accordance with change management processes
     
 
WHAT QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS DO YOU NEED?
  • A bachelor’s degree in information systems, management or IT related field or equivalent experience (Master’s degree desired)
  • A minimum of ten years in IT project management including experience in the full software development lifecycle for a projects requiring significant business change
  • A minimum of five years of experience in managing ERP implementation, including managing at least one full lifecycle of an ERP implementation
  • A minimum of seven years of experience in business analysis and system development experience 
  • A PMI certification
  • Experience in planning and managing complex architecture, design, development, operations, maintenance and support efforts employing system life cycles and best practices
  • The ability to positively coach people through change; knowledge of organizational change management methods and techniques desirable
  • An inquisitive disposition that will lead you to identify opportunities within the ERP
  • Curiosity to explore and implement new technology
  • Fluency in written and spoken English required (French desirable)
