COOK
Full-time Permanent Position
Rate $28.16/hr
Position Summary: Receiving direction from the Dietary/Food Services Supervisor or designate, primary responsibilities will include the assembly, preparation, cooking, baking and serving of food and beverage products and maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the cooking, food storage and serving areas.
Qualifications and required skills include: competent knowledge of cooking and at least one to three years’ experience in a commercial or institutional cooking environment; baking or pastry experience; excellent customer service skills; attention to detail; strong interpersonal skills; ability to follow oral and written direction; knowledge of WHMIS and the Occupational Health & Safety Act. Working towards or possessing your Red Seal qualification and knowledge of Food Handlers safety preferred.
Work may involve some heavy lifting and repetitive movements. The ability to work weekends is a requirement for this role as well as a willingness to work flexible hours or shifts as required, based on operational needs.
