Vari-Form Inc. has three facilities in Strathroy, Ontario and additional sites located in USA, Italy, China, and Mexico. Vari-Form Inc. is a division of the Crowne Group who is a leading manufacturer of automotive and industrial components to the Original Equipment (OE) and Aftermarket (AM) industries.
Our Engineering team has an opening on our day shift for the below position at our Strathroy, Ontario location. This position is responsible for the efficient and effective performance of the control systems of equipment and industrial automation used in the manufacturing of hydroform steel components.

This position is responsible for the efficient and effective performance of the control systems of equipment and industrial automation used in the manufacturing of hydroform steel components.
CONTROLS TECHNICIAN
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Involved in the design of the hydraulic and pneumatic systems associated with the equipment.
- Programs machine controllers, Human Machine Interfaces, setup industrial networks, and provides technical support.
- Supports product launches (internal and external) by involvement in APQP and troubleshooting equipment during the implementation process.
- Leads or participates in a variety of multi-disciplinary teams engaged in pursuing company goals or supporting product launches.
- Establishes and / or monitors appropriate timelines for completion of projects based on the needs of the customer (internal and external).
- Completes tasks assigned from Work Cell Continuous Improvement and / or Focus Factory Meetings.
- Participates in equipment control designs.
Educational Requirements and Skills:
- College Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology.
- Two to five years’ electrical controls and automotive experience.
- Knowledge of PLC programming, robotics, electrical control systems / circuits
- Seimens and Motoman experience is an asset.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and troubleshooting skills.
- Computer literacy and AutoCad.
- On call availability is required.
- Ability to travel out of country is required.
