Job Description
We're seeking a skilled On-Call Day Shift Cook to join our client's food service team in London.
What We Offer:
- Salary: $21 per hour
- Job Type/Shift: On-Call, Day Shift
- Monday to Friday 6:00 am to 2:00 pm
- On a bus route
- Weekly pay via Direct Deposit
What You'll Do:
- Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with recipes and quality standards using a grill, fryer, and stove.
- Prepare trays for client take-out, including making sandwiches, desserts, and slicing vegetables/fruits.
- Ensure food preparation areas are clean and sanitized.
- Maintain professional demeanor and decorum.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to maintain smooth operations and timely service.
- Adhere to health and safety guidelines and regulations including proper food safety and sanitization.
- Ensure that guests, clients, customers, and co-workers are treated with the highest level of customer service and professionalism.
What We're Looking For:
- Minimum of 1-2 years of previous experience as a cook in a busy kitchen or catering company.
- Must possess your Food Safety Certification.
- Proven knowledge of cooking techniques/preparation, and food safety practices, such as proper food handling, sanitization, and storage.
- Experience in using different cooking tools, equipment, and utensils.
- Ability to work well with limited supervision and under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Grade 12 education or equivalent.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
