We're looking for an engaging, creative and experienced Instructional Designer to join our Curriculum Department! The team is responsible for the development of all OSG’s facilitator and online courses. Topics include mental health, cannabis in the workplace, mobile equipment and a variety of courses that drive home the importance of workplace wellbeing in organizations across Canada. 

You will work on projects across technical and non-technical domains, so if learning new things is your jam, this is the role for you!  As an Instructional Designer, you are excited to develop compelling, data-driven learning experiences for our learners, as using education to make our clients working lives simpler and more productive is your passion. You will use your exceptional eye to design detailed course plans and storyboards with well-articulated delivery strategies that leverage our online and facilitator-led offerings.  Additionally, you will be creating and designing training solutions that meet the needs of our adult learners, writing and editing content as well as testing your solutions to ensure readiness and usability.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong understanding and interest in adult learning principles and instructional design. Even better if you have a degree or post-secondary education in those areas. 
  • The ability to tell a story in an engaging and creative way. Bonus points for using data to drive the impact of your results 
  • An eagerness to learn and experiment. You are constantly asking yourself, is this the simplest version?  Is there a technology that will make this process more efficient?
  • A love for data. Using data to inform your decisions is second nature to you, making it easy to visualize and identify opportunities in a way that drives better decision making
  • To be a master problem solver. You are always looking for compelling and innovative ways to provide a better experience and education to the learners 
  • The ability to research and collaborate. You may not be the master of all things, but you do have an innate ability to create engaging material on technical topics with the help of subject matter experts and other team members
  • A strong technical aptitude. You will have experience using different technologies and software to help you with your mission of creating engaging and eye-catching material (hello Adobe Cloud and Articulate)
