YMCA of Southwestern Ontario was founded in 1856 and has over 200 locations from Goderich to Point Pelee, and Windsor to Woodstock. We are one of the largest not-for-profit providers of licensed child care in Canada and have over 100 school age programs across our regions. We also offer settlement services to newcomers, employment programs, mental health support, and youth programs. YMCA of Southwestern Ontario operates two overnight camps, one in Point Pelee National Park, and one on Beausoleil Island in Muskoka. We also have 15 Health & Fitness branches across Southwestern Ontario.

Position: Program Coordinator
Location: East Lambton YMCA (61 Centennial Avenue Watford, ON N0M 2S0)
Start Date: October 21st, 2024
Salary: $38,000.00 to $40,000.00

In this role, you will:
• Report directly to the Centre Manager and be responsible for the ongoing assistance in all program development, implementation, and overall branch support. The primary responsibility of the function is to ensure consistent delivery of excellent customer service to both members and potential members of the YMCA. The Program Coordinator will demonstrate the values of the YMCA as it relates to the scope and responsibilities of his/her role.
Education & Skills Qualifications:
• Current First Aid/CPR
• Excellent customer service skills
• Organization and communication skills
• Current and acceptable Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Screening is a condition of employment for all staff and volunteers
• Experience in adult and child and youth program planning and implementation
Responsibilities:
• Coach and develop staff and volunteers
• Build relationships with members, through meaningful conversations by engaging them at all opportunities
• Develop and maintain program plans including program evaluation and program inquiries
• Direct program delivery on a consistent basis
• Support daily branch initiatives
• Assist in planning community events and programs
• Assist in posting on social media to promote programs and the YMCA
• Assist in recruitment of new staff for child and youth and fitness programs
• Support front desk and administrative duties
• Implementation of child and youth and adult programming
• Support Summer Camp and School Year Camp Programs
Schedule:
• Full Time – 40 hours per week
• Schedule dependent on branch needs
