Our client who is a leader in the Construction industry is actively recruiting for a Construction Manager.  This is a Direct Hire position.
 
Position Summary: We are seeking a Construction Manager who brings a highly ethical approach to this position and works in a team-oriented environment.  Promotes a positive atmosphere with effective communication and will have strong management, delegation, planning and leadership skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop diverse, high performing teams through coaching, training and development.
  • Be accountable for successful delivery of multiple projects.
  • Provide oversight, leadership and be accountable for the development and maintenance of project schedules and execution plans.
  • Oversee preconstruction phase, team selection and ensure the teams execute the stages on a portfolio of projects. 
  • Develop strategies and action plans to overcome project execution challenges.  
  • Support business development activities by creating and maintaining long lasting relationships with clients, engineers, suppliers, sub-contractors etc.
Knowledge Required:
  • Knowledge of construction techniques and disciplines, production and cost control, scheduling, safety policies and regulations and engineering requirements.
  • Knowledge of Ontario Health and Safety Act and Regulations
  • Knowledge of Federal and Provincial Acts & Regulations
  • Knowledge of contracts, procedures, impacts of changes on cost and schedules
Qualifications:
  • Post Secondary degree or diploma in Construction or Engineering.
  • Minimum of 15 years’ experience in construction with at least 8 years of managing large and complex projects. 
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Computer literate.
  • Adaptable and flexible.
  • Ability to manage large groups, attract and hire workers.
  • Sound understanding of Risk Management.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality and accountability.
  • Must be able to work under pressure.
  •  Demonstrated experience in the construction industry.
