YMCA of Southwestern Ontario was founded in 1856 and has over 200 locations from Goderich to Point Pelee, and Windsor to Woodstock. We are one of the largest not-for-profit providers of licensed child care in Canada and have over 100 school age programs across our regions. We also offer settlement services to newcomers, employment programs, mental health support, and youth programs. YMCA of Southwestern Ontario operates two overnight camps, one in Point Pelee National Park, and one on Beausoleil Island in Muskoka. We also have 15 Health & Fitness branches across Southwestern Ontario.

Position: Supervisor of Housekeeping
Start Date: As soon as possible
Location: London, ON
Salary: $42,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
Qualifications & Experience:
• High School education
• Previous supervisory experience
• Basic computer knowledge is an asset
• WHMIS certified
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Experience in the operation and maintenance of cleaning equipment, including scrubbers, burnishers, and vacuums, as well as expertise in floor care tasks such as waxing, stripping, and conducting preventive maintenance.
• Current and acceptable Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Position Screen is a condition of employment for all staff and volunteers.
• Valid driver’s license and own vehicle will be required; travel expenses will be reimbursed for work-related travel according to Association’s Travel Policy.

Responsibilities:
This role reports to the Association Facilities Managerand provides leadership to housekeeping staff across multiple sites. The Supervisor oversees and directly manages housekeeping operations and personnel at designated locations, offering support to Directors and General Managers. Responsibilities include recruiting, hiring, training, and supervising housekeeping staff, as well as ensuring adequate coverage for planned and unplanned absences, including illness, vacations, and personal days. Additionally, the Supervisor will conduct regular site audits, develop action plans to resolve identified issues, and coordinate deep cleaning projects at assigned sites.
• YMCA of Southwestern Ontario policy and procedures
• Act as a YMCA ambassador, demonstrating YMCA core values in your daily work
• In conjunction with requirements, responsible for conducting regular cleaning inspections and reporting feedback to direct reports
• Responsible for tracking and purchasing supplies and materials required for cleaning facilities
• Identify efficient methods and materials/equipment/products to be used while carrying out different tasks in a variety of programs
• Create site cleaning schedules for each location and monitor effectiveness
• Effective supervision, recruitment, hiring, and ongoing training of housekeeping staff ranging from 10 to 20 team members.
• Responsible for creating and executing regular deep cleaning plans at each site, both indoors and outdoors
• Administrate documentation, records management, accounts payable, supplies/inventory, departmental reports, etc.
• Valid driver’s license and own vehicle will be required; travel expenses will be reimbursed for work-related travel according to Association’s Travel Policy
• Monday to Friday, including evening work (when most staff are scheduled for their shifts)
